Reporting to the Business Unit Accounting Lead, this position serves as a key member of Accounting Services, with the primary focus on accounting, reporting, and analyzing revenue received by Auxiliary Units at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Auxiliary units and student organizations account for the generation of $80 Million dollars annually. This position will work closely with the Directors and Business Managers of the auxiliary units and acquire an in-depth knowledge of their operations. This position will serve as a liaison between the auxiliary units and central business services on campus.
This position requires the knowledge and application of professional accounting theory and practices and considerable knowledge of budget principles and procedures. The knowledge is required for maintaining, interpreting, analyzing and developing complete accounting records, reports and financial statements. This position consults campus departments on the appropriate accounting action needed to meet their needs. The individual coordinates the collection, input, and reconciliation of all data and the closing out of accounts at the end of the fiscal month and makes appropriate original and adjusting entries. In consultation with the manager, this individual helps develop procedures that increase the unit’s efficiency and service level.Minimum Qualifications
