IT Support Specialist At MediPharm Labs Inc

Job Description – IT Support Technician

Located in Barrie, Ontario, MediPharm Labs offers a professional and collaborative workplace culture in a leading-edge facility built to international pharma standards. Summary:

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting employees at our growing Barrie facility and satellite offices. You will work as part of the IT team, ensuring the company network operates efficiently and securely, monitoring network performance and maintaining the IT Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot desktop, tablet, mobile, printer hardware, network and software issues
  • Set-up on-boarding equipment and resources for staff
  • Train and on-board new staff using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) / User Requirement Specifications (URS)
  • Install, configure, and test all new workstations, peripheral equipment, software
  • Undertake scheduled maintenance and troubleshoot LAN/WAN and connectivity issues and escalate issues when necessary
  • Adhere to Computer System Validation (CSV) process requirements including incident management and change management procedures
  • Evaluate and prepare action plan for various system maintenance and implementations of system change
  • Stay up-to-date with new technology changes in the IT industry
  • Learn and support a wide variety of client/server/SAAS applications such as laboratory applications, access control, surveillance, IP telephony, security and incident management solutions
  • Follow project timelines based on project deliverables and on-going assignments
  • Monitor and respond to user-submitted and automated incident tickets / alerts

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience in deploying, configuring and installing computer hardware / software and supporting Microsoft Windows operating (desktop/server) system environments, Apple hardware and MacOS/iOS
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written technical instructions and scripts
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent hardware break/fix skill set
  • CompTIA Network+ certification or equivalent experience supporting TCP/IP, VLAN/LAN/WAN, Active Directory and Azure / Office365
  • Knowledge and experience in firewalls, WIFI, layer 2 / 3 network switch administration and management, server load balancing, data communications, TCP/IP, network support services (such as DNS, user authentication systems, logging systems, IDS systems, anti-virus systems), Hypervisor virtualization technology VMWare / ESXi / VCSA
  • Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic, time management, and organization skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees and external vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment with emphasis in customer service
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop and lift computer equipment

This position is working 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday through to Friday, but must be flexible for various shift changes as needed
