Herald School is looking for a caring, dedicated, resilient teacher to fill a full-time temporary position for the 2019-2020 school year. Main duties include working with students with specialized needs in one of our Specialized Program classrooms. Experience working with children with diverse needs and classroom educational assistants would be an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate adaptability and eagerness in building their capacity in working with students with diverse needs; complex communication needs, lifts and transfers, and comprehensive literacy are potential growth areas. This educator will also value a student-centered paradigm with supportive behavioral strategies, inclusion, differentiation of instruction, life skills programming, and a team/collaborative approach. The successful candidate must be aligned with the values and vision of Herald School and School Public School Division.
Herald School has an approximate student population of 240 students and is located in the Southwest Hill area. Herald School benefits from offering programming in a regular/graded program from Kindergarten/ELP to Grade 6 and our Specialized Program from Grades 1 to 12-aged students.
