We are looking for an experienced leader to join our team as the Director Drug, Product and Provider Management. The key focus of this role is to lead pharmacy benefit, product and provider management to ensure we further enhance our reputation in Canada as a group benefits provider and a leader in drug plan management.
Drive innovation and strategy for a full suite of group insurance products for Medavie Blue Cross in Canada, responding to client needs and generating growth opportunities with strong differentiation in the marketplace.
Accountable for the full product life cycle from design, implementation, management, go-to-market strategy and ongoing product assessment and oversight. The product portfolio includes health, dental, wellness, life and disability product lines for Group and Individual insurance.
Pharmacy Benefit Management Strategy and Operations
Ensure Medavie Blue Cross continues to be a leader in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM). This role is accountable to oversee the full scope of Medavie’s PBM strategy as well as operational delivery including, oversight of clinical review processes, drug manufacturer collaborations/negotiations, managing preferred supplier relationships and overseeing drug plan mapping and operations for all Medavie Blue Cross lines of business.
Enhance partnerships with provider groups and associations with overall accountability to manage and negotiate health and related provider contracts to ensure client needs and expectations are met and Medavie Blue Cross continues to strengthen its presence across Canada.
Business Development Support, Client and Partner Relationships
Build strong and credible relationships with clients and distributor partners, and demonstrate product knowledge and thought leadership with a fundamental focus on meeting current and emerging client needs. Lead client discussions regarding products and plan management needs and support business development teams in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada to win and retain business.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including clients, industry and government representatives to build collaborative relationships and enhance the organization's position in the marketplace.
Coach, mentor and lead a dynamic and diverse team of highly motived and talented professionals to support growth and enhance client delivery.
Education: University Degree in business, pharmacy or health related field
Work Experience: 10-15 years’ experience in leading product, drug management, or business growth initiatives in an insurance company or consulting firm. A strong understanding of the insurance industry.
Language Skills: Bilingualism is considered an asset
People Management: Ensures employees have the support, capacity and tools to meet their short term and long term objectives and provides daily coaching to strengthen the team and individual capabilities.
Strategic Thinking: Use of rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, looking beyond the obvious and not stopping at the first answers.
Action Management: Good project management skills and the ability to manage competing demands and expectations.
Communication: Strong communication skills in order to clearly convey the message both verbally and in written format, along with excellent listening skills.
Customer Orientation: Dedication to meeting the requirements of internal clients and establishing/maintaining effective relations through process improvements.
