Marketing Director, Digital Transformation

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Digital professional to join a dynamic and ownership-based Marketing team.


The objective of the role is to develop and lead the strategy and execution of transforming the way we talk to our consumers digitally by leveraging not only digital media but more importantly digital technology, content and assets, data and partnerships to create a consumer experience for our brands that grows sales and share.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing Director, Digital Transformation
  • Will demonstrate to the organization a passion for emerging marketing technologies (MarTech), along with a strong desire to learn to propel company as a leading edge digital and ecommerce brand.
  • Envision an end-to-end digital experience ecosystem
  • Formulate media investment vision and strategy grounded in company business objectives
  • Oversee the execution of digital strategies and projects with regards to 1st and 3rd party data, content, ecommerce and media by working closely with the marketing team, agency partners, ecommerce partners, and external service provides.
  • Assessment and set up of a DMP
  • Use DMP/3rd party data to create micro segment targeting of the digital media mix
  • Develop strategy to capture consumer data and define the value exchange/incentive for consumers to sign up
  • Develop a content strategy for CRM together with the brand teams that leverages the DMP to create new digital consumer experiences
  • Build and develop partnerships with external organizations in the area of data management, personalization, content strategy
  • Measure and report media & content performance on digital touch points, synthesize key insights and develop optimization plan accordingly
  • Develop and apply social strategies and architecture to support and drive increased customer engagement, brand advocacy, content marketing, community building, campaign activation, and coordination across earned, owned, and paid social.
  • Develop Social and Multiscreen Strategy, including but not limited to understanding how it fits with communications planning, activation, and measurement
  • Drive innovation and provide Strategic POVs on key trends to keep RB ahead of the curve in the Mobile and Multiscreen space
  • Provide digital marketing support to brand managers ensuring they are empowered to make best decisions about their brands
  • Own best in class brand marketing measurement that combine digital attribution with market mix modelling
  • Digital change management, including implementation of new marketing technology rollouts
Is this you?

  • University degree in business, marketing, communications; or equivalent combination of educations and experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of digital focused work experience
  • Solid knowledge of relevant technical platforms (DMPs)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical marketing strategies and balance multiple assignments and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to work with media measurement models including tagging and pixelling
  • A proven history of establishing and growing relationships with key strategic e-tailers such as Amazon, Walmart and Loblaws
  • Experience using web content management systems
  • Experience using analytic platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of SEO, SEM and Marketing Automation Multi-channel digital strategy and knowledge of current and emerging digital platforms
  • A thorough understanding of Facebook, Google, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest
  • Strong knowledge of digital communications and content trends, especially as they relate to target audience and general consumer behaviour and expectations
  • Must be able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to deliver well-researched and well-thought out digital strategies
  • Strong leadership skills, assertiveness to champion the digital transformation, its business case within the broader organization and ability to lead multifunctional team without direct reporting lines
  • Exceptional judgment and an in-depth understanding of company’s goals and priorities
  • A passionate marketer with a curiosity for new technologies, big data and continuous learning
  • Must possess strong skills in key areas of leadership, integrative planning, project management
  • Must demonstrate the ability to rapidly assess emerging business opportunities and translate them into first-to-market tactics that deliver business objectives
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter with utmost sense of ownership and urgency for the future of the brand.
