What You Will Do:
Reporting to the Social Strategy Lead, the Social Media Manager will be responsible for driving the success of our social selling and employee advocacy programs at MD, as well as planning and executing select social media campaigns.
In this role, you’ll work with advisors and other client-facing staff in our Social Selling program and enable them to leverage social media channels to connect with clients and prospects, build new relationships, and retain valued business. You will also create training programs demonstrating how to be active and engaging on social media without adding regulatory or reputational risk to the organization, and how to leverage software programs to optimize their activity and improve compliance.
In addition, you’ll work hand in hand with our legal and compliance teams to ensure related policies and procedures are both well-known and followed. You will also support the field with content ideas, analytics, and ongoing training & development to maximize this increasingly important channel. Most importantly, you’ll track the ROI of these efforts to demonstrate the necessity and benefits of this initiative.
Another important aspects of your duties will include working with our broader employee base across all levels of seniority to expand our Employee Advocacy program at MD, enabling all of MD’s people to share news, tools, and content that increases our brand awareness and provides helpful, engaging content to their audiences. You’ll build training material, content, and scorecards to help advocates see the benefits of their involvement. You’ll help them leverage software tools to optimize their activity and mitigate risk and provide feedback on their performance.
You will be a key member of the social media team, and broader content and digital marketing team, helping MD reach new prospects, connect more deeply with existing clients, and increase brand awareness in the Canadian marketplace. You will assist with executing social media strategies and coordinating key influencer relationships. This includes managing regular posts and responding to followers, providing project briefs and guidelines, staying abreast of industry trends, and providing copywriting skills.
What You Need:
You possess a university or college degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or business administration.
You have a minimum of 3-5 years professional experience.
You have a proven track record of executing social media strategies and community management of owned social media pages. Launching social selling and employee advocacy programs in a regulated industry would be a definite bonus!
Familiarity with the financial industry, with an understanding of investing, financial planning, savings and retirement issues, considered an asset!
