Assistant Project Manager, Brand Value At Macy's

Job Description

Job Overview

The Assistant Project Manager for the Brand Value Teams will report directly to the Manager of Project Manager for the Brand Value Team (digital and print). She/he will work closely with the Merchant and Marketing organizations, Creative, and Production teams to deliver digital and print marketing projects. The Assistant Project Manager’s role is to maintain, coordinate, and expedite marketing projects, ensuring all deadlines are met by the scheduled due dates from inception to completion, while maintaining strong partnerships, cross functionally. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:
  • Key liaison and support for Manager and Associate, Project Management, Brand Value team.
  • Manage the development of digital/ print assets from start to finish through seamless communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams (digital merchants, copy, photography, creative, imaging, site operations).
  • Develop timelines and schedules for workflows.
  • Proactively recommend and advocate for solutions to enhance efficiency of processes.
  • Keep all teams informed of project status and proactively communicate any challenges that put a project at risk; approach all challenges in a timely manner while identifying obstacles prior to team members being impacted.
  • Actively participate in all meetings and make contributions that would positively impact the Project Management team.
  • Work collaboratively across all teams.
  • Co-lead individual team members and drives for success.
  • Establish full awareness of all projects delegated within their team responsibility.
  • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
  • 4 Year College Degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Communications or Computer Science preferred.
  • At least 1 year of relevant project management experience, preferably in the internet, retail, advertising, or marketing industries.
Communication Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.
Physical Demands:
  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.
Other Skills:

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and aptitude to meet deadlines.

  • Prior experience or related internship in internet, retail, marketing or advertising environment.
  • Understanding of print workflow and of technologies as applied to digital projects.
  • Working knowledge of Macintosh and experience with database tools is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint, Photoshop and other data management systems.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, organization, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately manage multiple requests at a timely manner.
  • Proactive quality for problem solving.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
