Marketing Manager At General Mills

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Job Description

Position Scope: The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development, planning and execution of Brand programs to achieve profit, volume and share targets. This role reports into the Marketing Director.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage full P&L decisions including pricing, trade, and consumer spending as well as negotiation with Sr. Management for annual financial commitments
  • Lead current year plan delivery through managing spending, volume risks/opportunities, dealing with consumer and customer issue
  • Participate/lead cross-functional business team including key participants from Sales, Operations, Research and finance
  • Develop & Execute strong Marketing plan, Advertising and Promotional initiatives in partnership with Agencies and internal teams
  • Lead Customer and Consumer promotion development and execution
  • Champion strategic thinking and brand vision development overall business plan development and execution
  • Support product innovation team to develop New Product & Channels Strategies
  • Design and plan consumer/syndicated research projects to gain insights and discover opportunities
  • Be accountable for assessing and developing potential and leadership skills of direct report(s)

Key Skills

  • Emerging and proficient skills to manage, initiate, develop, direct and recommend in each of the three marketing competency areas:
  • Leadership: Demonstrate thought leadership to maximize the portfolio’s volume and profit potential
  • Analysis and Planning: Marketing Information (especially AC Nielsen), Pricing & Cost Management, Finance & Profitability, Strategic Planning, Operations & Logistics
  • Marketing and Creativity: Advertising, Media, Consumer Promotion, Trade Promotion
  • Resource Management: Personal Effectiveness Skills including Communications, Team and Project Leadership & Change Management

Job Requirements

  • University degree
  • High potential marketer with 4+ years marketing experience; 2+ years brand management experience
  • CPG and/or Food industry experience an asset
