Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving the education needs of approximately 17,150 students in 43 schools. Supports for Students (SFS), located in Sherwood Park, is home to approximately 60 of our EIPS employees.
The FTE for this position is flexible and consists of time to provide clinical services as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a variety of schools within Elk Island Public Schools. Interested candidates may also consider increasing the FTE to coordinate Speech, Language and Hearing Services for the school division.
The Speech-Language Pathologist works to promote the success of all students by engaging in activities designed to eliminate, reduce or prevent communication disabilities/delays. In addition, the speech-language pathologist counsels and educates families and school personnel about these disorders and their management.
The Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of the Speech, Language and Hearing Services department. The coordinator is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the other speech-language pathologists and supports the following activities:
