Open to: EIPS contract and substitute teachers
This 6 credit course will run weekdays from July 16 to 26, 2019. This program provides activities that will enhance curriculum objectives for Physical Education 10, CALM and CTS credits utilizing outdoor education as the medium for learning. The classroom portion of the course will be held at Lakeland Ridge School on July 16 - 19 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm; the outdoor education portion will be an overnight camp at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre, staying 5 days and 4 nights, from July 22 - 26. Students will participate in wilderness living skills, canoeing, orienteering, outdoor fitness activities and a variety of team building and leadership development activities.
Rate of pay is 1/200th of the teachers' salary as per EIPS' TCA salary grid.
This position is conditional on sufficient student registrations.
The successful candidate(s) must have or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
