Solution Engineer (Pre Sales) At DJI

Location: Burbank, California

Job Description

We are looking for an entry level solution engineer to research and consult our commercial UAV clients across key industry verticals in developing turnkey solutions. You will be responsible for working closely with strategic external partners and clients, as well as our internal engineering, sales, and business development teams together on solution engineering opportunities and driving ultimate customer success.

The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented and comfortable with working cross-functionally. They will also need to be fluent in DJI’s existing products, services, and future product roadmap from a technical standpoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the end user and work cross functionally with sales, business development, marketing, support, and engineering to drive mechanical solutions through to completion.
  • Work with mechanical blueprints, technical schematics, engineering project management software, and computer-aided design software to drive solution development.
  • Ability to investigate and diagnose mechanical equipment or solution failures for strategic clients and to offer remedial engineering or workflow solutions.
  • Work closely with DJI’s global product engineering teams to implement end-to-end technical solutions and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities and define urgent and pervasive product requirements for targeted market segments.
  • Mitigate risk to DJI via technical evaluation of prospective partners.

Competencies:
  • Experience in solution engineering, strategic or management consulting role.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering project management techniques and methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering project management software JIRA/Confluence is a strong advantage.
  • Deep understanding of target customer needs with an understanding of DJI’s software/hardware development capabilities and available technologies.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate the technical requirements of enterprise customers and guide then to appropriate solutions.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of work experience preferred.
  • Strong command of English language required. Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) a plus.
  • Must be eligible for U.S. employment

Preferred:

  • Passion for aviation, photography, and/or remote-control technology.
  • Experience speaking in public and/or interacting with media.
  • Enjoys travel.
  • Good sense of humor.
