Essential Functions

• Payroll - preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end reports
• Sales Tax - preparation of sales tax reports
• Tax Returns - preparation of corporate and personal tax returns
• QuickBooks - ability to perform monthly write-up functions
• Client and internal communications via phone and e-mail
• Extensive data entry
• Various database management tasks
• Work with confidential client matters
• Manage work flow and priorities

Requirements

• Above average proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer), QuickBooks, general office equipment (fax, copiers, scanners, etc.)
• Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
• Ability to prioritize ever changing demands and tasks.
• Must be able to follow instructions with minimal guidance and demonstrate professional judgment and decision making.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Bilingual preferred.
• Very strong organizational, procedural and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience in a "nearly paperless" environment highly desired.
• Must be able to adapt to and embrace nearly constant change.
• Highly motivated, energetic, self-starter required to be successful in position.
• Understanding of accounting fundamentals.
• Prior experience as a bookkeeper/tax preparer in a professional services firm required, prior experience in a public accounting firm highly desirable.
