Position Description

The organization is searching for an Accounting Manager who will be excited about working in a collaborative, team environment, based in New York City. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager should have experience that meets the following requirements:

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
• MBA or CPA preferred
• Excellent systems skills and advanced Excel skills

Primary Job Functions

• Provide analysis of balance sheet accounts.
• Provide analysis of various expense accounts.

* Assist with preparation of monthly closing journal entries and prepare closing work papers.

• Assists with all accounting functions including, but not limited to, General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Recording of company's weekly payroll.
• Assisting in closing monthly financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of financial statement information.
• Interact closely with the CFO.
• Cash flow monitoring.
• Assist with the organization's year-end review and work with the outside independent auditors.
• Assisting with other special Accounting projects from time to time.
• Ensures all General Ledger accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
• Assist with and/or prepare Bank reconciliations.
• Assist in review of travel and expense reports.

Key Competencies

* MS Dynamics Great Plains software experience.

* Technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of accounting practices, ensuring compliance with GAAP; financial knowledge and understanding of key financial measures and accounting methods with an emphasis on financial analysis.

* Minimum 4-6 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.

* Self-motivated and self-directed.

* Proven ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
