Social Media Strategist At Conde Nast

Job Description

Condé Nast is a global media company producing the highest quality content with a footprint of more than 1 billion consumers in 32 territories through print, digital, video and social platforms. The company’s portfolio includes many of the world’s most respected and influential media properties including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Self, GQ, The New Yorker, Condé Nast Traveler/Traveller, Allure, AD, Bon Appétit and Wired, among others. Condé Nast Entertainment was launched in 2011 to develop film, television and premium digital video programming.

Job Description

Condé Nast is seeking a Social Media Strategist. This position will play an integral role in the development and execution of social strategy and new social initiatives across the company’s portfolio of premium lifestyle brands. The role will support key brand projects and innovative pilots designed to grow Condé Nast’s social audience and drive traffic to owned and operated sites. The position will report to the Director of Social Strategy. We believe that social media is both art and science. We are looking for a strong social media strategist with a data-driven creative mindset.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of brands to monitor social insights, recommend tactical strategies supported by data, and help influence growth (with a focus on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest)

  • Collaborate with internal teams (data and analytics, product, audience development, social media and sales) to execute against a diverse set of high-priority social initiatives

  • Create the pipeline and project plan for innovative pilot programs, including new social products, social analytics tools, cross-brand content optimization tests and new social platforms or internal products

  • Manage relationships with external social partners, vendors, and 3rd party platforms to ensure that our brands are using them as fully as possible with up-to-date best practices

  • Own relationships with selected social platforms to bring new products, pilots and insights to stakeholders across Condé Nast

  • Monitor platform changes and recommend strategies to minimize impact for Condé Nast brands

  • Develop trainings and best practices for brand editorial and social teams

  • Develop guidelines around posting cadence, talent use and resource deployment

  • Review weekly and monthly cross-brand reports and summarize highlights for audience growth, traffic, and engagement across key social channels

  • Perform cross-platform competitive reviews (competitive ranking by vertical, top performing posts, benchmark audience and engagement metrics, key shifts in content trends, etc.)

The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital and social media and possess the following skills:

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Experience with digital site and social analytics

  • Strong influencing skills and ability to turn recommendations into reality

  • Expertise in social content strategy and what works in the dynamic, ever-changing world of social media

  • Familiarity with digital and social analytics tools and competitive landscape

  • Exceptional data storyteller with strong presentation skills

  • Sharp understanding and point of view on social media trends. Follows leading blogs, thought leaders and stays up to date on the latest content, product and marketing trends in social

  • Early adopter of new and emerging social media platforms – passionate about both being a user/consumer of social content as well as analyst/strategist

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in social media role

  • Previous tactical experience in social media responsible for publishing/creating social content and managing a brands’ social presence

  • Power user of native analytics and insights tools (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)

  • Familiar with social measurement tools including but not limited to social listening (Listen First, etc.) and social analytics (Crowdtangle, DashHudson, Tailwind, etc.)

  • Experience with 3rd party analytics and syndication research platforms (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.) preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Publisher experience preferred
