TEEN VOGUE is seeking a full-time Senior Social Media Manager to help develop our strategy and oversee content across two of our most important emerging channels: Instagram and Snapchat Discover.
This role is responsible for posting content to Teen Vogue’s Instagram and Instagram Stories, as well as overseeing editorial planning and production on Teen Vogue’s Snapchat Discover, with an overall focus on growth and engagement. This person knows how to tell a captivating social-first story, is a clean copywriter with an instinct for what’s on (and off) brand, has an eye for powerful visuals, understands how data can inform a smart editorial strategy, and is an expert at juggling multiple projects, managing deadlines, distilling numbers into actionable insights, and advocating for nothing-but-the-best social content across the organization.
Maximize traffic, engagement, and growth potential across all platforms, particularly on Instagram and Snapchat
Post content daily to Instagram and 2xs weekly to Snapchat Discover
Work with the EIC, digital, editorial, and creative departments to ensure that social strategy is baked into every part of the editorial process, and secure exclusive content for social channels including behind-the-scenes photos, videos, on-site coverage from live events, and tentpole activations
Oversee all aspects of content creation for platforms managed, from art (working with internal design teams) to copy to community management
Report on new trends, features, and data on social platforms, advising digital teams on changes to strategy, wins, and opportunity areas specific to Snapchat and Instagram
Work closely with the Associate Director of Audience Development and Social Media to plan, manage, and execute social media campaigns, promotions, and original social features
Ideate and launch new social media initiatives to ensure Teen Vogue stays at the forefront of social and delivers fresh, exciting content to our ever-changing audience; develop content that can be sold to advertisers
Collaborate with editors to pitch, conceptualize, and optimize content to perform on social
Manage a team of 1-2 junior social media and audience team members, as well as freelance editors
4-6 years of relevant experience managing social media for a large brand or media publisher; direct experience managing a major Instagram and/or Snapchat Discover platform preferred
Proven experience hitting key social metrics
Previous management experience strongly preferred
Ability to balance taste and editorial POV with data-driven strategy to achieve multiple brand goals
A strong knowledge of social analytics tools and scheduling tools
Excellent editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to capture Teen Vogue voice
Confidence, communication, flexibility, positivity and the ability to be a team player are essential
Demonstrated interest in fashion, beauty, current events, and culture
Impeccable attention to detail
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
