Manager, Email Marketing
Summary:
The Manager, Email Marketing is responsible for overseeing Condé Nast’s revenue driving email programs across the portfolio of brands. This position will support Consumer Marketing as part of the Email Strategy & Operations team, in unifying the company’s email marketing practices to ensure compliance, performance, and achievement of revenue goals.
This role includes both planning and hands-on execution. Applicants should be experienced strategists, with extensive campaign, automation, and data segmentation experience in one or more ESP platforms. .
Responsibilities:
Develop, build, and execute, data-driven email marketing campaigns across all Condé Nast titles including onboarding, retention, remarketing, and highly targeted recurring promotional mailings
Grow overall consumer revenue from email marketing efforts
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Condé Nast’s various databases and backend data flows as they pertain to email, while leveraging this knowledge to enhance programs with behavioral triggers, personalization, and improved user experience.
Collaborate with marketing managers to ensure consistent strategy, share knowledge and define processes
Collaborate with email marketing team responsible for execution of customer acquisition email campaigns
Monitor and report performance of all email marketing campaigns and adjust strategy of underperforming campaigns
Act as a center of excellence for email strategy, best practices, and compliance, including regular training presentations for marketing managers
Collaborate with Consumer Marketing to build and maintain a universal calendar of all email marketing campaigns, and cross-reference them against editorial programs to improve the user experience
Establish review & feedback systems with marketing teams and improve cross-team transparency
Migrate existing email campaigns from current ESP to new ESP
Continuously develop ESP expertise, and share ongoing learnings with other production stakeholders
Qualifications:
3-5+ years experience in email marketing, managing consumer promotion and retention programs
Extensive hands-on ESP experience: building and deploying email campaigns, structuring automated programs, and exporting/analyzing/manipulating reporting data
Familiarity with Sailthru, Watson Marketing Cloud (Silverpop), and/or Cheetah Digital (Cheetahmail) is preferred
Intermediate to expert level knowledge of HTML
Excellent understanding of email execution concepts and metrics; deliverability; best practices.
Strong understanding of data management and data exchange concepts.
Expertise in email compliance and privacy legislation, both domestic and international (specifically: CAN-SPAM; GDPR; CASL).
A self-starter with a proactive mindset, capable of seeking out and building the necessary relationships throughout the organization in order to achieve success.
