Why we need you

Concourse Media is looking for Intermediate / Senior Web Developers to join our growing and talented tech and design team to help us build scalable custom tools and extensions for other departments as well as our web properties. We’re also having a hard time getting past the 4th level on Donkey Kong and could use some support.

What To Expect:

As Intermediate / Senior Web Developer, you will report to the CTO and be required to:

• Collaborate with other teams and developers to design, develop, test and deploy new tools and extensions in PHP, javascript and multiple other languages.
• Identify and provide technical solutions to business problems.
• Work with management to improve productivity through automation and AI.
• Learn about and become an expert in Concourse Media.
• Be a flexible, fast and enthusiastic developer who is committed to delivering high quality results

Qualifications:

• 3+ years expert experience implementing responsive front-ends using web development technologies such as Javascript, HTML and CSS.
• 3+ years expert experience with server-side web development technologies on the LEMP stack (Linux, NGINX, MySQL and PHP).
• Fundamental understanding of Object Oriented PHP development.
• Solid understanding of DOM manipulation and JavaScript coding concepts.
• Experience and proficiency with MySQL databases.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Experience with source control software such as Git repositories.
• Internally motivated and able to work both independently and effectively within a team.
• Strong communication skills both internally within the tech and design team and externally with non technical staff.
• Encouraging, passionate, inspiring in all things.

Desired:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Software Developer.
• College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.
• Knowledge and experience using DocBlock.
• A positive individual wishing to contribute to a growing company.

Preferred:

• Experience using the Symfony framework.
• Experience in small business IT.
• Experience with Varnish cache.
• Past experience with Linux operating systems, such as Ubuntu.
• Experience with web server software NGINX and PHP-FPM..
• Experience with Facebook, DFP, Google Analytics and associated APIs.
• Experience using Doctrine.
• Experience using Composer.
