PhD Candidate in Thermal Spray and Surface Engineering At Concordia University

This research project is part of a collaborative work with the aerospace industry involving four academic and industrial partners. The main objective of the project is to develop, characterize and optimize new thermally sprayed coating systems for high temperature wear application in aeroengines. The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Develop new thermally sprayed coatings for wear protection at high temperature
• Conduct laboratory-scale wear and corrosion tests of materials and coatings.
• Characterize the specimens using specialized laboratory characterization techniques including SEM/EDX, XRD, EBSD, XPS and Raman.

The candidates will work under supervision of Prof. Christian Moreau (Concordia University) in collaboration with Prof. Richard Chromik (McGill University).
