ClearFlame Engines is an early-stage startup that is fundamentally increasing the limits of internal combustion engines. We have developed a new technology that adapts Diesel engines to use alternative fuels with no loss of performance. With support from the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and the Department of Agriculture, we have demonstrated a unique combination of 30% more power, sootless exhaust, and the potential for near-zero NOx. By affording lower costs to both manufacturers and users, our engine is positioned to dominate a wide range of Diesel applications.
ClearFlame has secured the funding we need to perform our first commercial demonstration, and we're looking to grow our team. We're seeking a "VP of Business Development" to evolve our existing industry relationships. We have worked with multiple leading OEMs and fuels producers on grant applications, and ClearFlame would like to formalize these, and other, relationships as we move towards product deployment.
VP of Business Development Job Description:
ClearFlame's VP of Business Development will be responsible for continued cultivation of OEM relationships—for both R&D and production—to deploy our solution at a large scale. This new team member will have the autonomy to pursue a range of potential commercialization strategies, and is expected to take a leadership position within ClearFlame as we refine our go-to-market plan.

Commitment and Compensation:
This position will receive a base salary, and will be highly incentivized to achieve performance targets. Salary is negotiable based on experience and commitment level. Bonuses will be provided based on forming significant relationships with OEMs, which include LOIs, JDAs, strategic investments, and production/licensing arrangements—to be assessed in regular performance reviews. The position will also include ClearFlame stock options.
ClearFlame is open to both part- and full-time commitments, and we are flexible on schedule as long as the applicant can still provide significant value to ClearFlame. ClearFlame is located near Chicago, and most of our current/potential partners are in the Midwest, but we would consider remote employment as long as the candidate is willing to communicate effectively and develop solid working relationships.
