Sales Manager At ClearDent

Location: Burnaby, British Columbia

Job Description

Job Summary

ClearDent, the fastest growing dental software company in Canada, is looking for a Sales Manager who is responsible or forecasting sales, running sales reports, analyzing performance data, providing mentorship and training, recruiting, hiring and onboarding new sales staff. The Sales Manager is responsible for helping to design, implement and streamline the sales process and to ensure the sales process is being followed while striving for continuous improvement.

The Sales Manager is also responsible for channel development and for implementing strategies to grow, nurture and develop profitable partnership opportunities.

The Sales Manager works in a cross functional way to ensure the alignment between departments and to help ensure the successful execution of the organization's sales strategies.

The Sales Manager is a critical role within the revenue operations of the company. The Sales Manager acts as the primary motivator for the sales team and helps the sales reps meet individual quotas, enables the team to hit team quotas and helps ensure the business meets its overall top-line revenue goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership of Sales Team

Ensure efficient day to day operation of Sales teams by:

  • Leading by example – assisting sales teams in closing business, providing executive alignment with target accounts
  • Coaching sales staff on effective sales methodologies to improve effectiveness
  • Approving sales discounts, helping negotiate deals, helping sales staff sell on value
  • Helping remove roadblocks for sales staff and aligning resources to assist sales staff close more deals
  • Leading effective sales meetings, conducting regular 1:1s with sales staff
  • Resolving escalated customer issues and customer complaints regarding sales
  • Tracking sales team metrics and sharing them with company leadership
  • Executing effective performance management and performance improvement tactics
  • Monitoring competition, economic indicators and industry trends

Business planning & execution to achieve corporate revenue goals

Achieve growth targets by:

  • Developing and implementing robust sales management processes – pipeline, account planning etc.
  • In conjunction with executive team, helping develop sales strategies to acquire net new customers and also increase share of wallet with existing customers
  • Creating accountability within the company by developing appropriate metrics and advising on compensation and promotions to align with these metrics
  • Overseeing all channel/partner development and adding new sales channels and 3rd party re-sellers

Cross functional collaboration

Help ensure overall success of the business, across all departments by:

  • Acting as a key member of the leadership team, participating in all corporate planning and contributing to strategy creation as required
  • Helping executive team solve problems across the business – regardless of department

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a sales leadership role
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a top performing individual sales contributor (credibility)
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and developing low performing sales staff into top producers
  • Experience selling or leading sales in a SaaS based technology setting (preferred)
  • Proven experience and ability to communicate strategy clearly to multiple stakeholders and areas of expertise
  • Post Secondary education preferably in a business-related field
