What you will be doing
Ground maintenance such as: pruning trees and shrubs; grass cutting; trimming; planting; digging; raking; leaf and garbage removal; Playground equipment maintenance; Planting and maintaining annual and perennial flowerbeds, small trees, shrubs and hedges, including weeding, watering, fertilizing, pruning and mulching; Garden design and plant selection. Chainsaw experience/certification may be an asset. Arena experience with ice resurfacer and basic refrigeration experience may be an asset. Knowledge of turf, sports field maintenance and related equipment is preferred. Experience with operation of small equipment (lawn mowers, weed eaters, brush chippers, etc.) and heavier equipment (trucks, trailers, pumps/sprayers, chippers, tractors, etc.) is desired
Required Education (Proof of education will be required upon offer of employment)
High School Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent
Previous job related experience (minimum one year work related experience)
Knowledge of operating job-related equipment
Valid Class G Driver’s License. or higher (proof of license is required upon offer of employment)
Valid Criminal Record Check is required. (Proof of check required upon offer of employment)
First Aid, CPR and WHMIS training preferred (proof of training/certificate required)
Ability to work professionally and effectively with the public
Ability to follow direction concisely
Ability to meet the physical demands requirements of the position.

Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
This position is within the outside workers union pay schedule and the hourly rate of pay is $22.00 per hour (2019 Rate).
