Superintendent, Product & Services At City of Calgary

Job Description

As the Superintendent, Product & Services, you will provide leadership for all activities associated with product & customer service delivery, community development/partnership development, human resource management, marketing and communications. As a member of the Leisure Centre management team, you will work collaboratively in developing and implementing strategic program plans, operating and capital budgets. In supervising the staff working within administration, cash control, food services, recreation and marketing. Primary duties include:

  • Strategic management and coordination of all product & service delivery to leverage resources within the facility, within The City of Calgary Recreation, external partners and community.
  • Manage, coordinate and consult for human resource functions within the facility including but not restricted to: recruitment, placement, training and development, collective agreement administration, wellness, rehabilitation, performance management and overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Initiate and manage partnership development within the community including internal and external providers such as Community Associations, Calgary Health Region, school boards and non-profit agencies.
  • Financial management, planning, supervision and accountability for operating budgets including revenues and expenditures.
  • Active leader and participant within the Leisure Centre Leadership Team.
Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year diploma with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the Recreation industry; OR
  • A degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the Recreation industry.
  • Must possess business acumen, good judgment, leadership, and team building skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication skills, and problem solving skills are required.
  • Report writing and experience presenting to Council would be considered assets.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

Position Type: Temporary (up to 8 months)
Location: 2623 56 Street N.E.
Compensation: Level E $77,891 - 117,609 per annum (Under Review)
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day work week; earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week..
