Senior Programmer Analyst At City of Calgary

Client Solutions is looking for a Senior Programmer Analysts (SPA) to lead technical teams responsible for supporting either the myCity (Intranet) and Calgary.ca (Internet), or the myCollab (internal collaboration) environments. Primary responsibilities common across both teams include:
  • Provide support for remedy tickets, multi-user incidents and after-hours support; support queue monitoring and managing queue coverage; continuous improvement of support process to reduce support effort.
  • Assist with administration of the underlying infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to clients with varying experience,
  • Provide proactive/strategic work including analysis, and understanding impacts, of changes impacting all sites; understanding impacts and planning updates, planned outages.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable corporate standards and policies.

Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year technical diploma in Information Technology and a minimum of 4years of related systems development and/or support experience; OR
  • A related degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Math or Engineering plus 2 years of related systems development and/or support experience
  • Experience coordinating and mentoring other developers.
  • Strong communication (both client focused and technical documentation) and interpersonal skills accompanied by a proven customer focus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to plan, estimate, and organize complex tasks for yourself and team-members.
  • You will have strong technical, analytical, problem solving and soft skills.
  • You will also have the technology experience to perform the job in an effective and efficient manner, and to ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates who have previous development experience with any of the following areas:
    • SharePoint or Adobe Experience Manager Sites, Communities, and Forms custom solution development.
    • Working understanding of various components and configurations of them within a SharePoint or Adobe Experience Manager site.
    • Experience in Site administration and knowledge in medium to large scale SharePoint or Adobe Experience Manager Farm administration.
    • Experience in PowerShell Scripting.
    • Java and JavaScript, Team Foundation Server or other Source Control Systems.

Position Type: 2 Temporary (up to 18 months)
Location: 133 6 Avenue S.E.
Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $39.46 - 52.76 per hour (2017 rates)
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
Audience: Internal/External
Out-of-Schedule Rates: $48.91 - 59.50 per hour (2017 rates)
This position is presently paid at an Out-of-Schedule rate to reflect
current market conditions. Should market conditions change, the
salary may be reviewed and may revert to the base rate.
