About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Vice President, HR, the Manager, People Experience will take on a hands-on leadership role, flexing from strategic to tactical initiatives. The Manager, People Experience will set the vision for and lead the development of a holistic human-centered experience that best serves our Cenovus employees and supports the execution of our business strategy. The Manager, People Experience will shape the future of Cenovus through management and design of our Employee Value Proposition, Organizational Health and Organizational Onboarding, Wellness, Recognition and Events functions. The Manager, People Experience will design and build impactful experiences for Cenovus employees founded in a deep understanding and passion for how we sustain and evolve our culture and work. This role all be a member of the HR Leadership Team and will influence HR Strategy and programs and provide leadership to support the effective planning and execution of key HR Projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and drive strategies and programs to develop a holistic employee experience with rich opportunities for growth, human connection, and inspiration.
  • Partner with colleagues across HR in addition influencing key stakeholders across the business, to design and execute organization-wide initiatives that are key to Cenovus’s people experience.
  • Guide the people experience strategy development and establish metrics to measure ROI.
  • Be a champion for both employees and the organization including the promotion and development of the desired Cenovus.
  • Lead with humanity to build, motivate, and guide a team of HR professionals in support of our unique culture.
  • Partner with consulting leaders in the co-creation of new tools and content for the Cenovus community.
  • Design an organizational onboarding program focused on culture, designed to immerse employees in company principles, values, and leadership.
  • Reimagine, launch, and facilitate core People experience team content and programs.
  • Using measurement tools, identify metrics to evaluate and show program impact.
  • Support and contribute to the continued development and implementation of the Cenovus wellness program.
  • Develop creative and unique strategies to integrate wellness into the overall culture of Cenovus.
  • Support the development of a robust employee recognition program to reward and retain employees.
  • Define the Cenovus Events strategy through creating best in class meeting and events in support of Cenovus business objectives.

Qualifications :

  • 10-12+ years’ experience in an HR or Marketing capacity, with progressively more senior roles including team leadership
  • Possess a university degree and/or college diploma in a related field
  • Demonstrated success in leading HR programs and/or Marketing initiatives with an outstanding ability to liaise and form positive relationships with all levels of employees and management
  • A “start up” mentality, with the ability and willingness and passion to tackle of wide range of activities, big and small with cross functional teams
  • Strategic thinker with a current view on HR and Culture best practices and trends
  • Ability to design and execute engagement and/or culture change strategies that drive behavior change and deliver stronger business results
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills written and verbal including a strong executive presence and comfort working with senior business leaders
  • Innovative thinker with a desire and ability to seek opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including a proven record of managing multiple priorities and projects
