Sr. Sales Engineer- Balticare At Baltimore Aircoil Company

Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Balticare Inc., the Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for all activities related to achieving sales targets and implementing the marketing strategy with his or her assigned engineering and contractor accounts for new unit sales. The Sales Engineer influences major engineering firms and contractors, and assists them in applying Baltimore Aircoil Company and other supporting goods and services to best meet the end-user customers’ needs, resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services in the NY territory.

NATURE & SCOPE

The Senior Sales Engineer will report to the Operations Manager, Balticare, Inc, and will provide leadership and responsibility for all sales and marketing initiatives for the assigned accounts. This position will have interaction with all levels of employees at the Jessup Headquarters and the North American manufacturing plants.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Generate sales of BAC equipment to meet fiscal year sales and margin goals
  • Maintains existing relationships and develops new relationships with consulting engineering firms and contractors.
  • Establish and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Responsible for outside sales of all products represented to a predetermined account list of engineering firms, contractors, and building owners.
  • Responsible for the design, support, marketing and educational modules to consulting engineers.
  • Responsible for proposal preparation of projects from engineering firms.
  • Manage large strategically significant projects in assigned region.
  • Track and report local market conditions and competitive activities.
  • Identify and fulfill tactical marketing requirements.
  • Promote BAC through customer and industry organization presentations.
  • Identify and communicate product needs based on feedback from Customers.
  • Assist in administration of warranty and commercial terms requirements.
  • Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentor and develop other sales staff as required
  • Provide and present training and educational materials to customers and prospective customers

WORKING CONDITIONS

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Fully competent and experienced in the areas of capital sales, marketing, new lead generation with engineering firms, contractors, and principal owners as it pertains to the HVAC marketplace.
  • Five (5) years minimum of direct sales experience selling to the engineering and contracting community in the New York City marketplace.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline is required.
  • Requires excellent technical, organizational, communication, and customer problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to interact with many different types of individuals, including executives, engineers, analysts, and other business professionals.
  • Must be a consummate professional and self-starter with the ability to work independently both and in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form with the ability to effectively communicate ideas at all levels of the organization
