Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform complex professional work in the analysis and development of compensation plans for public sector clients, including:
    • Meet with local and national public-sector clients and prospects delivering presentations related to compensation plan projects and promotional opportunities
    • Analyze existing client pay and class systems to assess opportunities for change
    • Collaborate with client to establish goals for project deliverables
    • Manage the project in accordance with the work plan
    • Provide responsive customer service
  • Develop a client pay plan model for public entities, adjusting to budget capacity and deliverable goals:
    • Oversee the collection and evaluation of data utilizing quantitative methods to build the data into pay plan models
    • Facilitate the market survey analysis, job evaluation process, and job description development (if applicable) in the context of classification and compensation studies
    • Prepares and presents final reports and recommendations to appointed and elected officials; considers client appeals to job evaluation.
  • Prepare proposals in response to public sector classification and compensation RFPs; respond to follow up inquiries from prospects regarding proposals; negotiate proposal pricing and scope adjustments to secure the project
  • Delegate, schedule, and oversee projects and work assignments of project managers, analysts and administrative support staff
  • Make recommendations on internal staff hiring, performance, training, promotion, and scheduling of work assignments
  • Present information at conferences.
  • Meet overnight travel obligations to attend client and prospective client meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in human resources, public administration, business administration, or related field
  • Six (6)+ years’ experience in public sector human resources and/or compensation
  • Demonstrated analytical, organization, interpersonal, communication skills
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
  • Certified Compensation Professional certification preferred
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
