Corporate Account Executive (Upstream Chemicals) - Calgary, AB At Baker Hughes

Job Description

Role Summary:

Baker Hughes has an opening for a Corporate Account Executive – Upstream Chemicals in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing ongoing profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image for the company, while achieving a high level of success in sales of our Upstream Chemicals services and products.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships with small and large accounts and complex products/services with the Upstream Chemicals Product Line
  • Write and submit bids, quote prices, negotiate bids, provide advice on pricing and provide timely and accurate response to customer proposals
  • Develop and maintains sales account management strategies to increase sales and profits with assigned accounts
  • Aligns with the Upstream Chemicals Operations and Technical teams to identify and target sales opportunities
  • Perform professional presentations or demonstrations while on-site, as well as off-site at customer locations
  • Follow-up on all sales leads in a timely/effective manner and make necessary sales presentations to customers and management as requested
  • Analyze customers’ needs and ensure customer satisfaction by recommending products/services that will contribute to customers’ production
  • Successfully communicate with internal departments to explain the needs of the customers and provide recommendations on how to fulfill the customer needs
  • Establish pricing agreements, terms and conditions, or Master Service Agreement where needed
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, and overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
  • Leads, facilitates and/or coordinates internal and external meetings. Participates in contract and pricing negotiations, communicates capabilities of other BHI Product Lines to the customer
  • Achievement of established sales goals and revenue objectives
  • Review profit and service commitments and may assist in develop commercial offerings
  • Mentor junior account executives to succeed as a team
  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes’ HSE policies, legal compliance requirements and core values
Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 plus years industry related field sales experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong ability to develop and build relationships, self-driven and comfortable with “cold-calling”
  • Flexible with the ability to be available for customer meetings, events and trade shows as well as travel when required
  • Experience in writing, negotiating and managing bids
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for success
  • Integrity, passion and in-person presentation skills are essential for this position

Desired Characteristics:
  • Technical knowledge of company’s products and services and their application to the customer requirements
  • Oil sands production processes such as oil/water separation, boiler water treatment, and/or upgrader/refinery experience would be an asset
  • Expert computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) CRM software (SalesForce) experience would be an asset
