Business Development Manager (Upstream Chemicals) Edmonton, Alberta At Baker Hughes

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Job Description

Baker Hughes, a GE company Upstream Chemicals has an opening for a Business Development Manager – Upstream Chemicals in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will:
  • Identify business development targets working to develop and implement sales strategies across the Edmonton district, in strong collaboration with Canadian Upstream Chemicals Operations, Business Development and Technology teams.
  • Engage and communicate with field personnel at customer facilities and sites, as well as engineering, supply chain and executive personnel at customer headquarters.
  • Ensure compliance with Sales and Service Standards at a key customer accounts.
  • Drive the development of short and long range sales goals in concert with Canadian Operations and Sales Management.
  • Ensure compliance to the reporting of key sales performance indications, meeting the expectations as set by Canadian Operations and Sales Management.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Identify and close new sales growth opportunities.
  • Support retention of key assigned key accounts, working in collaboration with the Operations team and in conjunction with Technology and Sales management.
  • Interface across the internal organization within Upstream Chemicals Canada to assure consist practices and adherence to commercial agreements with customers who may span multiple districts.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • 8+ years of upstream chemical application experience
  • Strong understanding of demulsification, corrosion control, scale inhibition, paraffin inhibition and remediation as well overall knowledge of oilfield production systems
  • Strong knowledge of the production chemical market, including customer value drivers and competitive positioning
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Expertise in sales and marketing
  • Strong at building customer relationships at all levels of customer organization
Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Sciences field
  • 5+ years of business development experience
  • Familiarity with various production methodologies, including oil sands, primary, secondary and tertiary recovery
  • Strong collaborator
  • Strong CRM and Microsoft Office skills
