Product Manager - Learning and Development At BAI Online

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

The Product Manager, in collaboration with the product development, sales and marketing teams, will conduct customer research, beta-test products, and collaborate on product launch plans. The product manager will be responsible for product pricing, packaging and positioning. This position will be responsible for measuring the outcome of these product pricing, packaging and positioning decisions by tracking product life-cycle results. This position will also collaborate closely with the BAI’s Learning and Development Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that product positioning and messaging are on strategy, resonates with customers, and are consistent with BAI’s existing brand.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct industry, competitive, and win-loss analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of emerging trends and opportunities, customer needs, and buyer behaviors
  • Work closely with our product development team to translate industry trends and customer needs into product requirements and product roadmap priorities
  • Help develop clear and compelling product positioning and value propositions that differentiate our products from the competition by collaborating with Marketing
  • Recommend appropriate packaging and pricing of new product offerings
  • Communicate product features and benefits that enable Marketing to translate into crisp, powerful external benefits that resonate with customers and prospects
  • Work with Marketing to create and manage buyer personas as the market changes or new products emerge
  • Create the content needed for internal product communications and training
  • Collaborate with Marketing and L&D Sales on the external communications tactics
  • Set, track, and drive key business metrics for the product line, including launch benchmarks, pipeline goals, and retirement guidelines
  • Collaborate with Marketing on the optimum mix of lead generation activities, while minimizing customer acquisition costs
  • Enable the L&D Sales organization to effectively communicate the value of BAI and its products to customers and develop internal sales tools that can be used to increase sales productivity
  • Provide product specific content to Marketing to inform the development of external sales tools, including sell sheets, proposal content, etc
  • Collaborate with Marketing on lead generation campaigns
  • Communicate the value proposition of the products to customers as one of BAI’s customer-facing product-based subject matter experts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Engineering, or related field required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in product management or marketing developing and managing products across multi-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking with proven ability to execute on multiple projects at once with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated, with strong project management, collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Experience with SaaS solutions, Online learning business and/or the financial services industry a plus.
  • Ability to travel periodically.
