Sales Representative At Backstop Solutions Group LLC

Backstop offers the leading suite of productivity software to the institutional investment industry. We are seeking a highly motivated and tech savvy individual that thrives in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. The individual in this position will be a vital member of our team to grow our share of the market for our newly acquired partner, BarclayHedge. This individual must be comfortable effectively working inbound leads, qualifying opportunities, giving product demonstrations, advancing sales cycles and closing new business. This position is a fantastic route to fast track your career with Backstop Solutions .

Responsibilities:
  • Qualify BarclayHedge leads using defined process
  • Make outbound calls and emails to potential customers
  • Respond to prospect questions that come through a variety of channels
  • Perform effective on-line demonstrations for prospects
  • Build and manage pipeline from lead qualification to signed agreement
  • Hold deals to a consistent sales cycle and process
  • Achieve or exceed goal for qualified leads and closed business on a monthly basis to assist in growing the revenue and profitability of the company
  • Provide weekly activity report on MQLs, pipeline, and sales closed
  • Update lead status and all prospect interaction in Backstop CRM application
  • Proactively learn BarclayHedge/Backstop Solutions Group products, competitor products, and industry
  • Work closely with leadership top ensure efficient process, consistent improvement is encouraged
Within 1 month, you will…
  • Complete new hire training and gain a broader understanding of the institutional investment industry and how Backstop Solutions adds value to our clients
  • Partner with your Manager to define key success metrics for your role
  • Acclimate yourself with the mission of the marketing and sales team by attending team meetings and spending time with members of the marketing and sales team
  • Begin connecting with prospective clients to build pipeline through a variety of methods
  • Begin developing familiarity with our business, platform, and applications
  • Learn key differentiators, develop, and personalize segment-specific value propositions.
  • Learn existing customer sales process by shadowing peers and working closely with your Manager and Marketing.
Within 3 months, you will…
  • Thoroughly qualify inbound leads, run product demonstrations, and close new business
  • Prioritize leads and position relevant products to solve business needs
  • Consistently meet and exceed your activity and pipeline goals
  • Conduct active research leveraging all available tools and data sources to understand your clients and become a trusted advisor
Within 6 months, you will…
  • Have mastered the use cases of successful customers
  • Have a clear understanding of the sales and marketing organization
  • Bring new ideas on how to improve the current sales process and lead generation efforts
  • Consistently meet and exceed your revenue targets
Within 12 months, you will…
  • Have mastered the necessary skills needed to work a consistent lead and sale process.
  • Be a leader on the team by sharing best practices and ways that you have been successful
  • Consistently exceed pipeline and new business goals
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of proven success in sales or marketing, ideally in SaaS
  • Ability to thrive in a metrics-driven sales environment
  • Experience independently running a great executive meeting
  • Highly coachable and eager to learn and grow in your sales career
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter with a high degree of accountability and work ethic
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and electronic means to build rapport with potential clients and internal team
  • Willingness and ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient or willingness to become proficient with computer and programs involved with contacting customers
  • Ability to adjust to a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a team player
  • Knowledge of the hedge fund industry and or investment analytical tools is ideal but not required
  • Background in finance and statistics is ideal but not required
