Initiates, implements, and manages a Transportation and Logistic Strategy for multiple locations to ensure that customer requirements and expectations have been accurately identified and that shipping operations are meeting or exceeding these criteria.
Ensures shipping standards are met at all times and supported with proper recordkeeping.
Directs, maintains, and enforces shipping/receiving policies for production facilities.
Establish freight cost metrics to track improvements.
Work with purchasing department to establish method for communication of deliveries from off-shore suppliers.
Act as a key contact for customers and suppliers for resolution of shipping/receiving issues.
Negotiate transportation rates and services with freight carriers.
Develop documented programs and training for delivery drivers.
Reviews all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving shipping and receiving operations.
Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Department
