We currently have an open position in the Finance Department for a Finance Intern. The ideal candidate is a resourceful, detail oriented, team player with time management abilities, and good oral and written communication skills. The primary workplace for this position will be in our Orlando office near the UCF main campus.

Finance Internship responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Creating Sales Orders, updating change orders, and invoicing customers
Actively manage the collections control of past due Accounts Receivable
Assisting in identifying revenue deferrals in hardware and software development billings
Assisting in other special projects related to US GAAP, DCAA/DCMA, and ISO compliance
Active participation in the month-end close process

Skills and Competencies:

Familiarity with the Customer Purchase Order/Sales Order/Invoicing process
Ability to read and extract relevant details from government procurement contract proposals and purchase orders
Ability to effectively communicate with internal program directors, customers, and government agencies to resolve billing and collections issues or initiatives
Staying proactive in an ever-changing business environment and initiating recommendations to improving the Accounts Receivable and Revenue efficiencies
Ability to prioritize daily routine functions and ad hoc projects
Fundamental understanding of debit and credit accounting is a must
Familiarity with cost accounting and the relationship to revenue recognition

Possess discretion to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information related to the Company, its customers and business partners and other employees

Motivated to succeed and learn

Education/Experience Requirements:

1-2 years of previous business environment experience (accounting work will be given extra consideration)
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a graduate degree in Accountancy or related field
Undergraduate degree in accounting is highly preferable
Familiarity with accounting software applications and ERP systems
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and intermediate formulas (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
