Job Description:
The Business Development role will be focussed on lead generation through cold calling and booking demos for our Account Executives. The ideal candidate for this role will be a customer-centric, pro-active individual who is looking to join an early stage technology company to help drive growth and innovation. Successful Business Development Representatives can expect the ability to transition into an Account Executive role after 6 months to 1 year.
Responsibilities and Duties
- You will work to build relationships and earn the trust of prospects and team members
- You will conduct warm and cold prospecting primarily through phone and email
- Devise and implement creative outbound strategies to help fuel growth and build sales pipeline
- You will be required to come up with new and creative ways to generate new leads
- Track and report all prospecting and sales activities in Salesforce or Close.io and other marketing automation tools
- Help manage warm and cold email campaigns
- Qualify calls for our Account Executives
- Confirm DEMO bookings
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- You know how to make connections and earn the trust of prospects
- You are curious and have a passion for driving a career in sales
- Ability to deliver high call volumes in pursuit of pipeline development goals
- Ability to think strategically in developing accounts for long-term value, not just setting meetings or qualifying a lead
- You are able to work independently to achieve results including taking ownership of deliverables and being accountable for the results
- You are a collaborator and understand its value in driving team success
- Degree or Diploma in a related field preferred
- 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role (preferably inside sales/business development) an asset
- 1 year of prospecting experience, an asset
- Experience with Salesforce.com or Close.io a plus
- Experience with SAAS a plus
