Food Safety Field Sales - Maritimes At 3M

Location: Saint-Laurent, Quebec

Job Description

3M is seeking a Field Sales Representative for our Food Safety Division, in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will make an impact by developing the Atlantic, Eastern Ontario, and a portion of the Quebec markets, acquiring new and growing existing customers with the 3M Food Safety solutions portfolio.


The food processing industry is stable and growing. Canada has been recognized over many years by having one of the strongest food safety and quality systems in the world. Canadians are aware and sensitive about the quality and safety of their food and there is increased regulation that will continue to drive demand for food safety solutions in the market.


3M has award winning technology and is recognized as a leader in the food safety market.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full portfolio of 3M Food Safety for the defined territory
  • Accountable for fiscal growth targets and budgets within the designated territory
  • Selling, promoting, and educating customers on the product portfolio
  • Maintain and build territory sales, drive penetration and seek out new business opportunities
  • Communicates with the team: Business Manager, National Sales Manager, Key Account Manager, field and inside sales reps in other territories, Marketing and Professional Services

Basic Qualifications:

  • University degree in Science
  • 5 years of sales in a customer-facing role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Microbiology, Food Safety, or Food Science
  • Familiar with and comfortable in a Food Safety customer setting. Related sales, management, and business experience or education would also be beneficial
  • Strong self-motivation and time management skills
  • Bilingual English-French an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated results driven mindset
  • Strong customer focus and consultative skills with a proven ability to develop solutions that address customer needs

Travel: In this role, you will be required to travel approximately 50% of the time, which may involve overnight stays. This will include trips to Eastern Ontario, a portion of Quebec (Gaspesie & Beauce regions) as well as Atlantic provinces where successful candidate does not reside. A valid driver’s license is required.
